Max Verstappen faces an uphill battle to avoid a race ban as he’ll need to navigate a clean Canadian and Austrian Grands Prix

If a driver reaches 12 penalty points on their FIA Super License over a single calendar year period, they are hit with a one-race penalty ban. Last season Kevin Magnussen missed the Azerbaijan Grand Prix after accumulating enough penalty points to trigger the one-race ban at the previous race, the Italian Grand Prix.

With Max Verstappen just one point away from a one-race suspension, there are several drivers who would be chomping at the bit to step in and make their mark
