A Russian drone attack on a bus in northeastern Ukraine killed at least nine people and injured seven others, Ukrainian officials said Saturday, just hours after the two countries met for the first direct peace talk in three years.

A family and pension-aged women were among the victims of a strike by a Russian Lancet attack drone on Saturday, say local authorities and President Zelensky.

Russia carried out a drone strike on an evacuation bus in the Sumy region. The UN has called the attack the deadliest in recent weeks, the website of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission (HRMMU) reports.
