Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA) issued a warning Tuesday that the United States had entered “uncharted territory” after he was handcuffed and forcibly removed from a homeland security press conference last week in Los Angeles.

Sen. Alex Padilla delivered a speech on the Senate floor, almost a week after being forcibly removed from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem's​ news conference in Los Angeles.

In emotional remarks on Tuesday, Padilla, a California Democrat, recounted the altercation, in which security forced him out of the room and onto the ground after he tried to ask Krisi Noem a question.
