The International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) awards show in Chattanooga this fall has gotten some star power.

When the IBMA chose Raleigh in 2012, relocating from Nashville, the news was hailed as a coup for the city, having drawn the highest-profile bluegrass event back to its historic home.

IBMA plans to announce a new city for the World of Bluegrass festival by the end of the year. The event will be held in Raleigh for the last time in 2024.

The IBMA Awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, Oct. 2, at 7:30 PM ET, at the Memorial Auditorium of North Carolina’s Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts.

The IBMA Bluegrass Live Festival is underway in downtown Raleigh, with two days of music on six stages. The festival is part of a week filled with bluegrass conferences and workshops.
