The Food and Drug Administration has rehired the vaccine chief who resigned just two weeks ago. Dr. Vinay Prasad led the FDA’s vaccines and gene therapy division until he was forced to resign in late July after a public pressure campaign led by far-right activist Laura Loomer.

Vinay Prasad recently drew outrage from conservatives, including Laura Loomer, who disagreed with his approach to approving gene therapies for rare diseases and accused him of holding liberal views.

Vinay Prasad, a top vaccine regulator ousted from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) late last month, is set to return to his post, according to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
