Watching it, it's hard not to consider the fact that the vast majority of children brought by parents are probably way more familiar with Spongebob and Squidward than they are with the colony of blue elf things leading the package's feature presentation.

The latest attempt to jumpstart the iconic Smurfs franchise back to boxoffice life, Smurfs, will be perfectly acceptable fodder to keep the kiddies amused, and because of its original 80’s Saturday Morning cartoon series just might provide enough nostalgia to make it bearable for their parents.
