Alan Alda approves of Netflix’s new TV series reboot of “The Four Seasons,” which is inspired by his 1981 classic movie of the same name. Alda made this clear when he visited Tina Fey, who created, wrote,

Alda’s appearance comes nearly 44 years to the day after The Four Seasons film premiered in theaters on April 30, 1981. Sadly, Alda is the only original actor to make an appearance in the series, although DECIDER recently chatted with Fey, who said they are open to welcoming Burnett if her schedule clears up and they get a second season.

The eight-episode TV adaptation from Tina Fey and fellow “30 Rock” alumni Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield is deeply confused about its intentions, retaining most of the movie’s details (so much so that it feels like the equivalent of cinematic karaoke) while also making changes that fail to deepen the narrative.
