Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield missed practice on Day 8 of the 2025 training camp due to a contusion on his throwing hand sustained during Thursday’s session. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that Mayfield underwent precautionary scans, ruling out a more severe injury, and is currently day-to-day.

The Bucs say Mayfield has a contusion on his right throwing hand. In a recent practice, he struck it on a defender’s shoulder pad during his follow-through. “He’s got a sore hand,” coach Todd Bowles said Friday.
