After welcoming the birth of his son on Jan. 26, Charlie McAvoy has been on a scoring tear for the Boston Bruins.

Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy has found a new level the last few games thanks to his newfound "Dad Strength."

Sixteen seconds remained in the Boston Bruins’ third-period power play when Mika Zibanejad wound up as the beneficiary of a Morgan Geekie turnover. The Bruins and the New York Rangers were tied at two with just over eight minutes to play in regulation on Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden.

Chris Kreider’s spectacular shorthanded goal at 11:54 of the third period broke a 2-2 tie after Zibanejad’s two-on-one pass hit the stick of Boston defenseman Charlie McAvoy and ended up in Kreider’s skates.
