US and Chinese officials started a second day of talks aimed at extending their tariff truce beyond a 90-day period that expires in two weeks and discussing ways to maintain trade ties while safeguarding economic security.

The U.S. and China had agreed to pause most of the sky-high tariffs on each others’ goods amid trade negotiations – but that pause is set to expire in August.
