Katheryn Eads was among the victims of the tragic flooding. She was a psychology senior lecturer at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Professor Eads joined UTSA in 2022 and became a full-time faculty member in the Department of Psychology in the College for Health, Community and Policy this year, according to UTSA.

The search for unlikely survivors grew more desperate four days after one of the deadliest U.S. floods in decades. Ten campers and a counselor are among those still missing.

A July Fourth weekend deluge in Texas caused catastrophic flash flooding that has killed more than 80 people. Camp Mystic in Kerr County says Monday morning that it is “grieving the loss” of 27 campers and counselors as the search continues for victims of the disaster.
