San Diego officials said multiple people are dead after the plane crashed in a neighborhood, causing multiple residences and cars to catch fire.

A small plane crashed into the Murphy Canyon neighborhood, setting about 15 homes on fire as well as vehicles, and forcing evacuations along several blocks.

About 100 people were displaced from their homes and all fatalities appeared to be from the aircraft, officials said.
