Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office records show that a Jacksonville real estate broker accused of running a multi-million dollar Ponzi scheme is behind bars after police searching for years.

I-295 at Old St. Augustine Road was closed and backed up for hours after a crash Sunday afternoon that killed two people on motorcycles, according to law enforcement.

Universities and colleges along the First Coast are starting to close in a domino effect in advance of the Winter storm that is hitting Florida Tuesday into Wednesday. By Tuesday afternoon, the area’s three most prominent universities and colleges had called it quits for some operations starting late Tuesday or Wednesday.

A few strong thunderstorms along the Panhandle and Big Bend are possible and may bring lightning, gusty winds of 40 to 50 mph, and heavy downpours. The cold front will continue to weaken overnight Friday and into Saturday as it moves through Northeast Florida and toward the I-4 corridor.
