Britt Prince's 22-point gem leads Nebraska women past Iowa
Despite an 11-point fourth-quarter lead and a rowdy home crowd, Iowa faltered down the stretch and lost to Nebraska Thursday night, 87-84, in overtime. Iowa has now lost four games in a row for the first time since 2016. Their record now sits at 12-6, 2-5 in the Big Ten.
Nearly a year ago to the day, Nebraska had just upset No. 1 Purdue before traveling to take on Iowa. The Hawkeyes handed NU a 94-76 beatdown. After knocking off 15th-ranked UCLA, the Huskers again headed to Iowa City for a showdown with the Hawkeyes on Tuesday night.
As has been the case for the majority of the season, Iowa was shorthanded against Nebraska. Freshman Cooper Koch was unavailable. Drew Thelwell, who started the previous five games and averaged 13.6 points during that span, did not play either due to a lingering issue
Hawkeyes trailed 52-37 with 14:53 left. Huskers hit last-second 3-pointer to force overtime. Then Iowa took over.
