We’re in prime mock season as the 2025 NFL draft creeps closer, and with the Cowboys in obvious need of a running back, several mock drafts have projected Dallas to select Boise State star RB Ashton Jeanty with their first pick at No. 12 overall.
It felt as if DeMarcus Lawrence would be headed elsewhere this offseason but the Dallas Cowboys are meeting with his team to see if a deal can be struck.
They expect that if Lawrence returns to the field in 2025, he could agree to a two-year contract worth $24,059,480. He would earn $12,029,740 per season, based on Sportrac’s projections. The Cowboys should be interested in hanging on to Lawrence, despite the fact that he missed part of Dallas’ 2024 campaign due to a foot injury.
