Two years after joining the Browns’ staff as a senior offensive assistant, Musgrave has been promoted to quarterbacks coach. There is a great chance he has been working with quarterbacks over the past two years (the Browns have hired a quarterbacks coach just one time since 2020) but is now in the role officially.

BEREA, Ohio (WKBN) — NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo is reporting that the Cleveland Browns are promoting Bill Musgrave to quarterbacks coach. He replaces Ashton Grant, who left Cleveland to join the New England Patriots organization. Musgrave has been a senior offensive assistant since joining the Browns organization in 2023.

The New England Patriots are reportedly hiring Cleveland Browns offensive assistant Ashton Grant as their new quarterbacks coach, according to CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones. Grant is a Connecticut native who attended Assumption University in Worcester. So this is a homecoming for the man set to replace T.C. McCartney.

The Cleveland Browns had a big shakeup in their coaching staff after their disastrous 3-14 season. Offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey was fired immediately after the season and was replaced by pass game specialist and tight ends coach Tommy Rees.

The Cleveland Browns are coming off a miserable showing in the 2024 campaign. The Browns entered the season expecting to compete with the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens for AFC North supremacy.
