Ramaswamy has quickly become the Republican frontrunner, thanks in part to President Donald Trump's endorsement.
Ramaswamy rose to national prominence during his 2024 presidential bid. Although he did not win enough support against President Donald Trump, he still gained name recognition and became popular with Republican voters. He was initially picked to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) but is not involved.
The entrepreneur is entering a competitive GOP primary to replace Republican Governor Mike DeWine, a seasoned center-right leader who is term-limited.
“In the first industrial revolution, Ohio led the way in rubber production and glass production … and I believe Ohio can lead the way again,” he told The Post. “Silicon Valley led the way in the American economy for the last ten years, and I want it to be the Ohio River Valley for the next ten on my watch.”
