Mohamed Salah said the death of Liverpool teammate Diogo Jota in a car crash had left him "frightened" to return to the club as the Premier League champions postponed the return of some players for pre-season training.

The Liverpool forward posted the message on social media a little over 24 hours after the news of Jota's passing was confirmed by Spanish police.

A devastated Mohamed Salah has admitted he is ‘frightened’ over the prospect of returning to Liverpool following the death of teammate Diogo Jota. Jota and his brother Andre were killed in the early hours of Thursday morning after the Lamborghini they were travelling in crashed in northwest Spain.
