Elon Musk is in a legal fight with Microsoft but made a virtual appearance at the software giant’s annual developer conference to reveal that Microsoft's cloud computing platform will now host Musk’s artificial intelligence chatbot Grok.

Microsoft said Monday that it is adding Grok — the AI model produced by Elon Musk's xAI — to the growing list of third-party AI models it offers via its cloud service. Why it matters: Microsoft is trying to convince developers and businesses that its AI strategy is a better bet than those from its partner OpenAI and a slew of competitors,

“These models will have all the service level agreements (SLAs) Azure customers expect from any Microsoft product,” says Microsoft. The Grok AI models will be hosted and billed directly by Microsoft, and offered to its own product teams and customers through its Azure AI Foundry service.
