The Phoenix Suns have fired an employee who is suing the team for discrimination, harassment and retaliation, ESPN has learned.

The Phoenix Suns have fired Gene Traylor, an employee who filed a lawsuit against the team in May alleging discrimination and harassment.

The Suns confirmed on Monday that Gene Traylor — who was hired by the Suns in January 2023 as the director of safety, security and risk management — is no longer with the organization.
