With tensions between India and Pakistan rising over the Pahalgam terror attack, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke to his Indian counterpart S Jaishankar and called for “settlement” of the “disagreements” between the two neighbours under the framework of the Simla agreement and the Lahore declaration.

The move comes almost two weeks after the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, which has shocked the whole nation. India's action on May 3 is the continuation of the steps it has taken against Pakistan after the attack.
