Cryptocurrency investor John Woeltz has been charged with two counts of second-degree assault and one charge each of kidnapping, imprisonment and criminal possession of a firearm after police claim he kidnapped and tortured an Italian tourist in New York City.

A wealthy crypto investor is accused of torturing a man in a ritzy Soho townhouse by electrocuting him, pistol-whipping him and forcing him to smoke cocaine.

The tortured and wounded victim escaped John Woeltz's house of horrors in an ordeal authorities described as “The Wolf of Wall Street” meets “American Psycho."
