On Tuesday, Woods announced on social media that he had ruptured his Achilles tendon while training at home. He has since undergone surgery to repair the tendon. “I felt a sharp pain in my left Achilles, which was deemed to be ruptured,” Woods said on social media.

Two days prior to The PLAYERS teeing off, it was revealed that Tiger Woods sustained a partial tear in his Achilles and was forced to undergo surgery.

Tiger Woods has passed on his final chance to play in the Players Championship.  Woods' name was absent when the Players field for 2025 was released shortly after 5 p.m. ET by the PGA Tour.
