Veen, a consensus top-5 prospect in the Rockies ' system, crushed a 433-foot home run off Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Buddy Corcoran on Saturday afternoon. He added a stolen base in the Rockies’ 9-3 victory. However, all anyone could talk about was the home run. Veen punctuated the massive shot with an uncharacteristic bat flip.
The Rockies added Veen to their 40-man roster back in December. The 23-year-old had another big moment against the D-Backs on Friday, when he tied the game at 6–6 with an RBI double in the top of the seventh. Colorado would go on to win that game 12–8, and Saturday's game 9–3.
