President Donald Trump 's administration was first to reach out to Qatar about acquiring a $400-million Boeing 747 for Air Force One, according to a report from CNN. The report, which cites four individuals familiar with the matter, adds context to the administration's repeated assertions that the jet was simply a "gift" from the Gulf state.

Qatar Airways said it could still buy widebody aircraft from Airbus SE in the future, days after it announced a mega order for long-haul jets by Boeing Co.
