Hawaiian Volcano Observatory scientists said “episode 30” of the ongoing Kilauea eruption ended abruptly at 12:55 p.m. today after 12 hours of continuous fountaining.

Hawaii’s Mount Kilauea is erupting yet again, this time in its 30th episode, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The Halemaʻumaʻu eruption’s Episode 30 ended abruptly at 12:55 p.m. on Aug. 6, after 12 hours of continuous fountaining.

Evacuation orders have been lifted and Highway 19 has reopened following reports of an active wildfire in the Hamakua area.
