As quickly as an athlete can experience the highs resembling the top of the world, the agony of defeat is not far to follow. Jayson Tatum’s defeat came in a form that he couldn’t have ever imagined.

After the Celtics won Game 5, Fox Sports' Emmanuel Acho claimed that Boston matches up better against New York without Tatum in the lineup. Phoenix Suns veteran Kevin Durant, who was teammates with Tatum last summer on Team USA, fired back at Acho on X.

Jayson Tatum was having a phenomenal game against the Knicks. The Celtics superstar got up to 42 points, eight rebounds, four assists, four steals, and two blocks before his night came to an abrupt end.

While we don't know the type of injury yet, many are concerned it could be some time before he's back on the court.
