An Australian youth pastor from an Adelaide church has been arrested and charged in the US for allegedly sharing sexually explicit material involving children.

A married Adelaide youth pastor from one of the city’s biggest churches has been arrested in the US over videos allegedly depicting child abuse.

Daniel Menelaou was arrested by police in Atlanta, Georgia after he allegedly sent multiple videos containing child abuse material. Mr Menelaou was previously a pastor at the Salisbury Futures Church.

According to the warrant, the youth pastor uploaded multiple videos that "depict a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct" and shared the images using the messenger app Kik.
