A yellow heat health alert has been extended for seven regions in England amid the country's fourth heatwave of the summer.

Parts of England will swelter through temperatures of up to 30°C on Friday with heat health alerts extending into next week. The alerts, issued by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), warn that the ongoing hot weather could pose a danger to older people in particular and put strain on health and social care services.

Heat health alerts have been extended across much of England until Monday evening due to ongoing high temperatures. Temperatures are forecast to reach around 30C in parts of south-west England on Saturday and 29C on Sunday.
