LOS ANGELES ( KTLA) — Two weeks after “Cheers” actor George Wendt passed away, his cause of death has now been revealed.

Wendt, 76, passed away in his sleep from cardiac arrest, per his official death certificate, which was obtained by TMZ.

The TV icon, known for playing Norm Peterson in “Cheers,” died “peacefully in his sleep” on Tuesday, May 17, at age 76.
