A child is recovering after they were attacked by a mountain lion near Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park.

"It was a pretty bad scream, but I just assumed it was a kid acting up," a witness who arrived right after the attack said in an interview Tuesday.

A 4-year-old was attacked by a cougar in Olympic National Park and airlifted to safety. The cougar was killed.
