Firefighters made progress on the north and east sides of the Deer Creek Fire on Thursday thanks to cloud cover and cooler temperatures, according to the Friday update from InciWeb.

Fire crews working across western Colorado made more progress containing and slowing the growth of several wildfires Thursday.

Weather in the Green Fire area was predicted to be slightly warmer and drier Friday, with temperatures in the mid to upper 90s and humidity ranging between 18% to 23%, according to InciWeb.

Fire crews were responding to the 600-acre blaze west of Black Canyon City in the Bradshaw Mountains that started July 2, 2025.

The fire has prompted evacuation orders, warnings and highway closures in San Luis Obispo County about 100 miles north of Los Angeles.
