The Trump administration on May 14 moved to change standards and enforcement on so-called "forever chemicals" in drinking water.

The E.P.A. said it would maintain limits on the two most common “forever chemicals” in tap water. Rules for four others will be rolled back.

In a court filing, the agency said the abeyance would allow time to “allow parties to confer and seek agreement on proposals” ahead of the EPA’s planned announcement on the rules.
