SUSPECT CAPTURED: Vance Boelter, the suspect in the fatal shootings of a Minnesota lawmaker and her husband, as well as the woundings of another lawmaker and his wife, has been captured.
After Utah Sen. Mike Lee promoted right-wing conspiracy theories about the man who killed Melissa Hortman and her husband, a senior staffer for Sen. Tina Smith wrote a blistering email to Lee’s staff.
Officials said a man charged with shooting two lawmakers and their spouses was apparently thwarted at two other politicians’ homes.
Senators will be briefed by law enforcement Tuesday on safety and security after the murder of a Minnesota lawmaker and her husband on Saturday.
