Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with members of several political parties of the Maldives on Saturday.

Discussions covered strengthening bilateral ties, capacity building, and developmental cooperation. Both countries signed eight agreements spanning sectors like fisheries, digital transformation, and UPI.

Prime Minister Modi met Maldives’ Vice President in Malé during the 60th Independence Day celebrations. India announced a $565 million line of credit to strengthen infrastructure and bilateral ties.The visit marks a thaw in strained ties under President Muizzu’s earlier “India Out” stance.
