According to police, a father and son were sitting in a vehicle on the 13000 block of Dale Street around 9 p.m. when they were struck by shots fired from an unknown vehicle that was driving by. The father died from his injuries; the son is still being treated, police said.

Police were called to the 1300 block of East 89th Street in Kansas City Sunday morning on reports of gunshots. The victim later died at an area hospital.
