Eleven different teams got votes to win the SEC championship. Georgia was second with 44 votes, followed by Alabama (29), then LSU (20), South Carolina (5), Oklahoma (3), Vanderbilt (2), Florida (2), Tennessee (1), Ole Miss (1) and Auburn (1).

Georgia and Texas led all teams by placing 13 players on the preseason All-SEC teams voted on this week at SEC Media Days in Atlanta. The Bulldogs placed 10 players on the first team, one on the second team and two on the third team. The Longhorns had four players on the first team, two on the second team and five on the third team.

According to the rankings, the Tennessee Volunteers are projected to finish ninth in the SEC this season behind notable teams such as Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and others. The projection also suggests that the members of the media do not expect the Vols to return to this year's College Football Playoff.
