Damage assessments and recovery operations continue after a powerful storm system over the weekend spawned a deadly severe weather outbreak, dust storms and wildfires.

Nine of the 12 fatalities reported during last week's severe weather outbreak occurred in Wayne and Ozark counties.

As people slowly begin the difficult task of cleaning up, at least 42 people are reported dead after days of severe storms, including violent tornadoes.
